Todd Blanchfield and the Australian Boomers continued their unbeaten run in the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers over the last week, with wins over China and Japan.

Blanchfield averaged 6.3 points per game, as the Boomers swept their group, which also includes Chinese Taipei.

Sunday’s game against China saw Geraldton talent Alex Ducas make his Boomers debut.

The St Mary’s player has trained with the Wildcats in previous NBL off-seasons.

Meanwhile, New Zealand remain undefeated in their qualifying group as well, following a 46-point demolition of the Philippines.

Wildcats recruit Corey Webster scored 11 points and had five assists.

In other basketball played over the weekend, Ollie Hayes-Brown continued his NBL1 West domination with 24 points and 24 rebounds in Willetton’s win over the Eastern Suns.

Hayes-Brown leads the league in rebounding with 15.1 per game.

Kyle Zunic also had an impressive game in Warwick’s win over the Slammers, finishing with 21 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
