Todd Blanchfield went off with a bang in his first NBL1 North game of the season, dropping 30 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in Rockhampton’s win over the Cairns Marlins on Saturday night.
The NBL veteran did most of his damage on the inside, hitting seven of his 10 attempts from inside the arc, while also dropping two triples.
In the NBL1 Central competition, Jack Purchase made his first appearance for Forestville in their 14-point win over Sturt, adding 17 points, five rebounds and three assists.
Heading to the NBL South, Wildcats development player Mitch Clarke and the Bendigo Braves fell to Ballarat, with Clarke contributing nine points and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, retired four-time Wildcats champion Greg Hire continues to dominate at state level, picking up two wins at the weekend with the Rockingham Flames, averaging 13 points and 10.5 rebounds over the two games.
