From 7pm, players will put their skills to the test ahead of NBL26 as teammates go head-to-head for a sensational evening of basketball.
The event marks Wildcats’ return to the City following their sold-out 2024 pre-season game against NBL1 West Select at the state-of-the-art facility.
“We are pleased to be returning to the Morley Recreation Centre for another pre-season fixture and extend our thanks to the City of Bayswater for their ongoing support.” Wildcats General Manager of Basketball Operations Danny Mills said.
“This match provides an excellent opportunity for our playing group to compete in an intra-squad game, giving fans an early look at some of our new signings while continuing to build on the positive momentum established during our pre-season training camp.”
“We are also excited to see the Rio Tinto Wildcats Academy athletes take the court in their own intra-squad curtain-raiser, showcasing the elite Western Australian talent being developed through our Academy program.”
Mayor Filomena Piffaretti said the City was delighted to partner with Perth Wildcats and East Perth District Basketball Association for the event.
“The City is thrilled to welcome Perth Wildcats and spectators from across Perth to Morley for an exciting pre-season match of elite basketball,” she said.
“Sporting clubs and groups are the lifeblood of our community and we’re excited to inspire the next generation of athletes by hosting this unmissable event.”
Doors will open at 4.30pm, with a Wildcats Academy intrasquad game taking place at 5pm ahead of Perth Wildcats taking to the courts at 7pm.
Spectators can grab a bite to eat before or after the game at one of the restaurants in Morley’s town centre. Food and drink will also be available to purchase at Morley Sport and Recreation Centre.
Walking, cycling or catching public transport to the game is encouraged.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 15 August and are expected to sell out quickly. To purchase tickets, visit Eventbrite.
