Summary
The Wildcats and Breakers met for the first time this season in Tasmania. While the two teams were at opposite ends of the table, the Breakers fielded a full strength team for just the second time this season. Perth looked in control of the game for the first half, with Vic Law dominating the contest. Breakers star Hugo Besson went off in the third quarter to change the complexion of the game and, suddenly, the game was being played on New Zealand’s terms. Down by as much as four points in the dying stages, Bryce Cotton came to life in a big way to give his team a chance, before Law hit a mid-range jumper to send the game to overtime. Both teams hit big shots in the bonus period, but it came down to the reigning MVP to run the length of the floor and nail a three-pointer with less than two seconds remaining to win it for Perth. 
The game was the Wildcats 14th consecutive away game, but New Zealand haven’t played at home all season. Perth were missing Matt Hodgson and Kevin White.

“It was a great game. I’m guessing a great game from a fans perspective. Lots of big shots on both sides. Both teams were out there battling. From a coach’s perspective, there was a lot of defensive things that could be cleaned up. But, the nice thing for us was we were able to hit the last shot, and credit to the guy beside me (Bryce Cotton) and Vic for really stepping up and hanging in there.”

“I was just reading and reacting. Trying to find an open spot on the floor. I was looking and anticipating a double but it didn’t happen, and I think there was some miscommunication, so once that happened I saw a pathway and my eyes lit up.”

Player focus
Vic Law had the highest scoring night of any player this season with 39 points and seven rebounds, while Bryce Cotton had near triple-double numbers with 32 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Key stats and facts
It was the first time this season two players from same team had 30-points each, and the first game this year both teams have scored 100-points.
53% was Perth’s best shooting performance of the season.
It’s the second straight year the Wildcats have defeated New Zealand in overtime in Tasmania.
