Where: RAC Arena
Watch: Live on ESPN via Kayo or Foxtel
Context
The Perth Wildcats come into this game 3-0 for the season and will be looking to continue their impressive form at home. Perth sharp-shooters definitely found their form in Monday night’s win over Cairns, the team finishing with 18 three-pointers, the most EVER in an away game by the Wildcats. Melbourne United will come into this game with their backs against the wall, following an uncharacteristic mauling from the Sydney Kings on Sunday. United will be looking to bounce back and silence a passionate Red Army.
Pre-game words
John Rillie on the match-up with Melbourne.
“They’ve recruited well, they’ve still got great players, I would say they’re more of a physical athletic team this year compared to what they have been previously.”
“You’re going to anticipate that they will come out with a great energy about themselves,”
“Most importantly, it’s about how we come out and how do we attack and use that to our advantage.”
Roster Availability
Corey Webster returns to the lineup, while TaShawn Thomas will undergo a Game Day fitness test to determine his availability.
Opponents to watch out for
Xavier Rathan-Mayes. The Canadian sharp-shooter has been in exceptional form to start the season and after a relatively quiet night out against the Kings on Sunday, he will be looking to ramp up the firepower.
Last time they met
The Perth Wildcats were defeated by Melbourne United 75-84 at RAC Arena back in April. Bryce Cotton top scored for Perth with 18 points, while Chris Goulding was Melbourne’s best with 18 points also.
