Context
Perth Wildcats come into Round 9 on the back of a disappointing 82–96 defeat at the hands of Adelaide 36ers. The team take on Brisbane Bullets in the first game of their road double-header and will be hoping to return to the winners list. Sharp-shooters Bryce Cotton and Brady Manek have continued their impressive form on the offensive end, but the team will be looking to focus on increasing their consistency on the defensive end. The Bullets come into this game following a 79-116 loss to NZ Breakers in New Zealand and will be wanting to make amends on their home court.
Pre-game words
John Rillie on the match-up with Brisbane Bullets.
“No matter what team we play, we’re going to prepare the same way,” he said.
“It has to be more about us, when we’re a little hot and cold with our performances, it really comes down to us, our mentality and how we’re prepared to sacrifice as individuals to be better for the team.”
“Brisbane’s defence, besides the zone, is still very similar in principle to the first time we played them, so we can reflect on the first time we played them and pick a part what we felt worked well against them.”
Roster Availability
Kyle Zunic returns to the 11-man line-up to face Brisbane.
Development Player Michael Harris will also be suiting up.
Opponents to watch out for
Despite the result in his last game, Nathan Sobey impressed with 14 points and 10 rebounds and is always a high-energy threat who can stuff the stats sheet.
Last time they met
The Perth Wildcats defeated Brisbane Bullets 87-73 at RAC Arena. Bryce Cotton finished with a game-high 23 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Devondrick Walker top-scored for Brisbane, finishing with 16 points.
