Dunlap has a wealth of coaching experience including the head-coach role at Charlotte Bobcats and more recently a stint as assistant coach with Milwaukee Bucks where he was part of an NBA championship in 2021.
The 66-year-old, who will serve as a guest coach for the week, has a connection with the Wildcats through head coach John Rillie, who he coached during their time at NBL outfit Adelaide 36ers.
He also mentored club stalwart Jesse Wagstaff for a couple of years at Metro State University.
Dunlap arrived in Las Vegas on Monday morning ahead of the Wildcats' first clash against the NBA G-League Ignite at Dollar Loan Center on Wednesday night.
He surprised his former player Wagstaff at the Wildcats' hotel team room in a special moment.
Game two is at the same venue on Friday evening.
