Fitter, faster, stronger Majok

Perth Wildcats centre Majok Majok said he has mentally moved past the Achilles injury which kept him out of the 2021 NBL season.
Majok spent 20 months on the sidelines after rupturing the tendon ahead of what would have been his second season with Perth.
He performed well at the pre-season tournament in Tasmania, and carried the form into Round 1 of the 2021/22 NBL Season, playing the most minutes since his 2018 season with Melbourne United.
With Matt Hodgson injured, he logged an average of 26 minutes in the Wildcats two wins at the weekend, contributing 8.0 and 9.5 rebounds in the process.
“I was very happy with myself and my performance, and how I was able to help the team,” he said.
“I didn’t even know Matt (Hodgson) was out, I just found myself playing a lot, so I just went with it, I went with the flow and didn’t think about it.
“I don’t even think about my Achilles any more, I just go out there and play, and try to help the team in any way possible. I feel ready, I’ve done all the rehab, I’ve done the work on my body, so I’m feeling ready.”
Majok said he began to feel comfortable in practice, but it wasn’t until completing a pre-season game that he was able to put the injury out of his mind.
He believes he’s now in the best shape of his career.
“This is the fittest, strongest and fastest I’ve ever been in my career. I’m very happy with that. Our medical team and our physio have done a wonderful job making sure I go 100% every time in the weight room… I can tell the difference out there.”
And don't be surprised if you see him pull the trigger from long range this season!
Majok Majok has been working on his three-point shooting and he’s got a little message for Bryce and Vic… 😆
