G-League Ignite coach Jason Hart has heaped praise on his opposite number from Perth Wildcats John Rillie as their teams prepare to clash in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Hart and Rillie go way back with the pair coaching at University of Southern California and Boise State University respectively.

They will lock horns twice in three days - on Wednesday and Friday nights - as part of the NBA G-League Fall Invitational series.

“I know that they’ve won a lot of championships and I know that they’ve got a very good coach who’s a friend of mine, Mr John Rillie,” Hart said when asked what he knew about the Wildcats.

"He and I used to recruit together when he was at Boise and I was at USC so I know he's got an eye for talent.

"Then obviously they've got Bryce Cotton who's a really good point guard and (Keanu) Pinder was at Arizona when I was at USC.

"I recruited Jordan Usher when I was at USC, then they've got young men with dreams as well so they're coming to compete and I know they didn't come all this way to mess around."

Hart spoke glowingly of new Wildcats import Usher, describing him as a passionate and energetic player.

"He's very energetic, he's got a real passion for the game, he loves to play basketball and he's a competitor. That's why I recruited him," he said.

"I'm telling my guys they need to be ready because he'll hit you in the mouth from the start."

You can stream the games live and free on the NBA App, from 9am WA time on September 7 and 9.
