Perth Wildcats captain Jesse Wagstaff is set to join an exclusive club when he takes to the court this weekend.
On Friday night, he plays his 349th NBL game.
It will put him equal with Andrew Vlahov as the fourth-most Perth Wildcats games in history.
Both Wagstaff and Vlahov are one-club players who began their careers as Wildcats, winning titles in their rookie seasons.
Vlahov finished with three titles while Wagstaff’s six is the most by any player in the competition’s history.
The 34-year-old said it’s an honour to reach such a milestone.
“I think (Vlahov) would be pretty devastated he didn’t get to 350 to be honest. Surely you can play one more game!” joked Wagstaff.
“You kind of lose track of these things though. You think when I got here 12 years ago, you don’t think about milestones like this.
“It’s a huge honour, you look at those names around the club, they’re kind of legends, to be able to equal that, with a guy like Vlahov is pretty humbling,” said Wagstaff.
In his 348 NBL games, Jesse Wagstaff has scored 3,056 points and grabbed 1,156 rebounds.
He’s made 375 three-pointers which is good enough for fourth in the club’s history.
His NBL championships came in 2010, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2020.
Wagstaff was the 2010 NBL Rookie of the Year and the 2012 NBL Best Sixth Man.
He was appointed the ninth captain of the Perth Wildcats earlier his month.
His side takes on the South East Melbourne Phoenix and the NZ Breakers at home this weekend on Friday and Sunday.
