The Perth Wildcats have closed out their run of five games to start the season with a resounding 101-83 win over the Tasmania JackJumpers.

Perth shot the lights out, with a rare 50-40-90 game – going 51.4 per cent from the field, 40 per cent from three-point range, while cashing in all 1of their 9 foul shots.

While Scott Morrison was pleased with his team’s offence, he said there’s plenty of room for improvement on the defensive end.

“I was proud of the effort the guys put in… But you’ve got to give credit to Tasmania, they did a number on us in the second half with their offence," he said.

“I told the team after the game, we shoot 20-50-100, but we want to win games when we shoot 20-20-60 and I don’t think that would have been the case tonight, giving up 83 points.

“I’m happy to get a win, never turn down a win, but credit to Tasmania they gave us a lot of good film to watch, and we’re going to have to pick up our defence.”

The Wildcats also dominated the glass with 51 rebounds to 30, which Morrison attributed to the JackJumpers struggles shooting the ball.

In the end, the game was dominated by Perth Widlcats imports Vic Law, Bryce Cotton and Michael Frazier II.

After a solid first three quarters, Law ended the game with a head of steam, throwing down a monster slam before sinking three consecutive three-pointers.

He finished with the impressive stat line of 32 points and 12 rebounds.

Cotton was consistent all night for his 23 points and game-high six assists, while Frazier picked up 13 points and seven rebounds while playing 17 minutes in his first start.

Sunday’s crowd of 13,615 was a record for a Perth Wildcats home game.

The game ends Perth’s five-game home stand to start the year, frim which they picked up four wins.

Their next clash is against Adelaide on 28 December – the first of what will be a six-week road trip before the West Australian borders open on 5 February.
