Jack Purchase has become the first Perth Wildcats recruit to join his new teammates ahead of the 2021/22 NBL Season.
The 206cm forward arrived in Perth from Adelaide this week.
“It’s been great, I’ve really been keen to get out here and get on court with the boys,” he said.
“The last couple of days have been great, to get out here and get a feel for the group and just get to Perth really.”
The sharp-shooter highlighted his reasons for wanting to become a Wildcat.
“It’s probably one of the best clubs in Australian sport in the last 30 years. To be able to join a club like this is definitely one of the main reasons I wanted to be here.”
After touching down on Wednesday, Purchase underwent physical testing before joining his teammates for on-court sessions on Thursday and Friday.
He will meet young fans for the first time at a Wildcats Junior Clinic on Friday afternoon.
“It’s amazing to be a part of it (the Perth Wildcats). I’ve seen it from afar while growing up. I’ve been watching the NBL my whole life, to be a part of it now is amazing.”
Fellow recruit Vic Law will join the team next week after completing two weeks of hotel quarantine in Brisbane.
