Perth Wildcats captain Jesse Wagstaff will represent Australia at the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup in Singapore, beginning this Friday in Singapore.
Wagstaff will join former Widlcats teammate Lucas Walker, 36er Daniel Johnson and 3x3 speacialist Andrew Steel.
It's the first 3x3 Asia Cup in three years, and the Australian team will be looking to defend their back-to-back titles from 2018 and 2019.
"It’s exciting to be back on the 3×3 stage. The pandemic made it incredibly difficult to continue international sport and it left our 3×3 athletes and staff chomping at the bit," said coach, Dave Biwer.
"To head to Singapore with a new-look team and an opportunity for these players to bring back gold is simply exciting times for 3×3 Australia. Can’t wait to show our toughness, desire and pride in wearing the green and gold.”
Jesse Wagstaff last represenetd Australia at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in 2018 in standard basketball, winning gold.
