After spending two weeks in home quarantine, new Perth Wildcats recruit Kevin White has joined his teammates for the first time at the Bendat Basketball Centre.

White participated in a gym workout before a light skills session.

He joked at the prospect of picking up Bryce Cotton at training over the course of a season.

“Thankfully I’ve got to get a few more days under my belt before I join the guys on court, it was just good to get a ball in my hands (today),” said White.

“I think I’ll just let Norto (Mitch Norton) tag him (Cotton) for a bit longer and bide my time!

“Having someone like Bryce in the organisation is only going to make me a better player, to be able to guard him every day and then go out there. If you’re putting in work against him, the best player in the league, you know when you step up on the weekend, the challenge is something you’re used to.”

He said he arrives at the organisation aware of its history and cultural standards, and is excited to now be a part of it.

“To come and join the Wildcats is something that I don’t think many people would turn down and to get the opportunity to play again, and to put on the Wildcats jersey is something not many people get to do. I’m pretty fortunate, and looking forward to it.”

Kevin White will wear the number three uniform in the upcoming season.
