Mike Kelly leads undefeated Boomers through Asia Cup group phase

The Australian Boomers, who ar being coached by Perth Wildcats associate head coach Mike Kelly, are currently dominating the FIBA Asia Cup in Indonesia.

The Boomers feature championship-winning former Wildcats in Clint Steindl, Rhys Vague and Wani Swaka Lo Buluk. 

West Australians Thon Maker, Keanu Pinder and Alex Ducas are also in the lineup, with former Wildcats assistant coach Jacob Chance on Kelly's staff.

The young squad dominated the group phase of the tournament, defeating Indonesia, Jordan and Saudi Arabia in convincing style.

They now move on to the quarter finals, to take place in Jakarta on Thursday.

Back home, Wildcats big man Majok Majok is back on the court, teaming up with Kyle Zunic at the Warwick Senators.in the NBL1.

Majok averaged 15.5 points and 8.5 rebounsd in his first two games back since the completion of the NBL season. Zunic contributed totals of 18 and 19 points as Warwick split the results of its double-header over the weekend.

In New Zealand, Corey Webster had 19 points and five assists in the Franklin Bulls 10-point loss to the Hawkes Bay Hawks on Saturday.

He's ranked second in the competiton for scoring.
