Perth Wildcats point guard Mitch Norton has been named in the extended Australian Boomers squad for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Norton is one of eight NBL players named in the 24-man group.
Also included are two-time Wildcats champion Nick Kay, who represented Australia at the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
Perth’s Duop Reath, who trained with the Wildcats over the off-season, is also in the squad.
It's been fun, Duop! 🙌

Headlining the group are three-time Olympians Joe Ingles (Utah Jazz) and Patty Mills (San Antonio Spurs) along with two-time NBA All-Star Ben Simmons (Philadelphia 76ers).
Currently ranked #3 in the world, the Boomers will head into Tokyo looking to claim their first ever Olympic Games basketball medal and will do so under the tutelage of Brian Goorjian, who will team up with former Perth Wildcats lead assistant coach Matt Nielsen, as well as David Patrick and Adam Caporn.
It is a well- balanced squad selected by position with a nice blend of experience coupled with a lot of new and exciting players coming through,” said Goorjian.
“These are our top 24 available players and included is significant representation from the NBL, showing the strength of our local league where the standard of competition is recognised worldwide.
“I have spoken to each player over the past fortnight and have been extremely impressed, to a man, by their overwhelming desire to play for Australia in Tokyo.”
The official 12-member Australian Olympic Men’s Basketball Team roster for the 2020 Tokyo Games will be announced by the Australia Olympic Committee later this year.
