And there’ll be more Wildcats across the league than we’ve seen in years, with four members of the NBL26 squad set to suit up in 2026.
In a late swoop, the Warwick Senators have secured the signature of guard Ben Henshall for the season.
He’ll be making his first NBL1 appearance since his 2023 stint with the Centre of Excellence in NBL1 East.
The side will tip things off Thursday night, going head-to-head with Cam Huefner and the Perry Lakes Hawks.
Huefner is set to make his NBL1 West debut, arriving off a championship-winning season in NBL1 Central with the West Adelaide Bearcats.
The Hawks will be led by Wildcats Assistant Coach Ben Peterson, who makes his NBL1 West coaching debut.
Meanwhile, David Okwera returns to the East Perth Eagles after a strong 2024 campaign, where he averaged 14.7 points and 9.8 rebounds.
With another 57 NBL games under his belt since then, he’s set to make an even bigger impact this time around.
The Eagles face Tom Gerovich and the Willetton Tigers on Saturday night, with the Development Player returning to his club again in 2026.
