The Perth Wildcats 2021/22 Season Launch today took time to recognise, reflect and honour, on what has been a very rich and illustrious forty-year history for the club.
The day however was not only about looking back, but aboutlooking ahead, with the launch heralding the dawning of a new era for the club comprising a new ownership structure, a new head coach and today, the significant announcement of Pentanet’s long term Principal Partnership extension until the 2024/25 season.
“These are exciting times for Pentanet, joining forces again with the Perth Wildcats and extending our commitment as the club’s principal partner,” said Pentanet’s managing Director Stephen Cornish.
“Like the Wildcats, Pentanet is proudly at the top of its game. High-performance is in the DNA of both organisations, so it’s always a great match.
“The team has continued to outperform and outplay the competition, while remaining true to its values and delivering non-stop entertainment for the Red Army.
“Pentanet shares the passion that supporters have for our basketball team, and are proud to continue our support of the Wildcats and the WA basketball community.
“We are looking forward to another season of ‘Nothing but Net’ for Perth!”
In what was a very bold move at the time, Pentanet began its partnership with the club at the commencement of the 2018/19 NBL Season - only months into its existence.
The organisation has since experienced phenomenal growth through its market-leading private fixed wireless network and high-speed internet product.
It’s recognised as one of the fastest growing tech companies in the Asia Pacific region which culminated in a highly-successful listing on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in January of this year.
Pentanet continues to break new ground, having invested heavily in deploying infrastructure for Facebook’s next generation technology, Terragraph, and undertaking an ambitious national cloud gaming roll-out partnership with global graphics chip giant NVIDIA and its GeForce Now technologies.
The aim being to deliver Australia’s best and highest quality cloud gaming service.
Perth Wildcats CEO, Troy Georgiu expressed his sincere gratitude for Pentanet’s loyalty and long-term commitment to the club.
“Stephen, Tim and the entire Pentanet organisation really are an inspiration to us. Their story and sharp ascent is remarkable, but not surprising, when you understand their level of passion, ambition and vision,” said Mr Georgiu.
“They are very astute and intelligent with a sharp focus on what they want to achieve and how to do it. To always be one step ahead, to be delivering the highest levels of service, to be the best there is.
“We’re very fortunate and grateful that we found each other and have been able to share this journey together. Pentanet has etched itself into an important chapter in Wildcats history and we look forward to writing many more together.”
