Perth Djooditj Unveiled for Indigenous Round

The Perth Wildcats are proud to introduce its Indigenous Round uniform for the 2022/23 season.

Indigenous Round is a highlight of every NBL season, showcasing indigenous art and culture from around the country.

This season, the Wildcats have adopted the name ‘Djooditj’ for the first time, a move the club will continue to incorporate on future Indigenous Round uniforms.

Djooditj (Tjootitj/Chuditch) is the noongar term for Western Quoll, a rare native marsupial, similar to WA’s own native 'wildcat'.

The artwork on this season’s uniform was created by emerging Geraldton artist Beau Simpson.

Beau said designing the Indigenous Round uniform artwork was a special experience.

“I was pretty stoked when I got the phone call, I’ve only been doing art for over a year now,” he said.

“I love the Wildcats and to be able to create a design for them was pretty special to me.”

The artwork, titled ‘Together as One’, is a bold and vibrant piece that uses pink and aqua to contrast the classic Wildcats red.
