Perth Wildcats 40th Anniversary Team Revealed

In the lead up to its 40th birthday, the Perth Wildcats are excited to reveal its historic 40th Anniversary Team.
The star-studded team, comprising of a starting five and reserve five, was chosen by a 10-person selection panel of Australian basketball greats including players, coaches, broadcasters, and administrators.
Each panel member selected their team of four guards and six front court players individually, with a player receiving two votes for a starting selection and one vote for a reserve selection.
While representing the Perth Wildcats, players from the final team have won a remarkable combined total of 30 championships, 27 Gordon Ellis Medals and five NBL MVP awards.
All 10 players have featured on All-NBL First Teams.
The Perth Wildcats 40th Anniversary Team is as follows:
Starters
Ricky Grace
Four-time champion, six-time club MVP, two-time Grand Final MVP. Ranked first all-time in total games, points and assists.
Bryce Cotton
Three-time champion, three-time NBL MVP, two-time Grand Final MVP, four-time NBL scoring champion
Shawn Redhage
Four-time champion, six-time club MVP. Top-five all time in Wildcats points, rebounds, assists and blocks.
Andrew Vlahov
Three-time champion, 1995 Grand Final MVP, two-time club MVP. All-time top-three in Wildcats scoring, rebounding, assists. Captain from 1993-2002
James Crawford
Three-time champion, four-time club MVP. Second all-time in scoring and first in total rebounds
Reserves
Damian Martin (Captain)
Six-time champion, six-time NBL Best Defensive Player, 2016 Grand Final MVP. Captain from 2013-2020
Kevin Lisch
2010 champion and Grand Final MVP, 2012 NBL MVP, three-time club MVP
Scott Fisher
Two-time champion, two-time club MVP. Ranked top-five in Wildcats points and top-three in rebounds
Nick Kay
Two-time champion, two-time All-NBL First Team
Paul Rogers
Two-time champion, 2000 NBL MVP, 2000 club MVP
Coach
Trevor Gleeson
Five-time championship coach, ranked first in Wildcats games coached. 2021 NBL Coach of the Year
Six-time championship player Damian Martin was voted captain of the all-time team by the selection panel.
Martin led the Wildcats through its most successful era from 2013 to 2020, with the club winning five titles in that time.
Sunday will be 40 years to the day since the Perth Wildcats played its first ever game on 6 February 1982.
