Replicating their fast start on Friday night, the Perth Wildcats came out with aggression and pace, holding a nine-point lead after the first quarter. Luke Travers continued his fine form across the board, finishing with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals. Adelaide closed the gap in the second half from the hot hand of Craig Randall, who finished with a game-high 29 points. Reaction
John Rillie was pleased to go two-from-two in the pre-season.
“At the end of the day we’re just playing to win, and we won both games,” he said.
“Pre-season is about opportunity; a lot of people get an opportunity but what you do with your opportunity leads to more.
“As you’ve seen, we have shown that we have good depth right now, we’re not going to live and die by what we’ve seen over the last two games but it’s a great indicator with so many people contributing in such a significant way.”
Player focus
Fan-favourite Brady Manek made his debut in red and did not disappoint. In just 21 minutes on court, he finished with a team-high 15 points and five rebounds.
