The program, which has been running for over 10 years, is a school-based mentoring initiative that encourages children from lower socio-economic backgrounds to attend school regularly, set achievable goals, and develop both academically and personally - far beyond just playing basketball
The players join the primary school aged children in the classroom, where their educational goals are set and tracked over 2 terms.
Designed to connect elite athletes with students by bringing them into the classroom activities, the program emphasizes the importance of education and growth off the court.
The conclusion of the program brings the whole school together, where the students are rewarded for their hard work with an exhibition game against the Wildcats players.
Keep an eye on the Wildcats social channels throughout the month of August for updates on the program, and coverage of the upcoming Wildcats v Inspire games.
