You asked, and we’ve made it happen.
In a nod to the uniforms worn by players in the formative era of our great club, the Perth Wildcats will wear reduced-length basketball shorts as part of its home uniform for the remainder of the season.
“Our fans and members regularly request throwback attire, a tribute to the uniforms they remember from the Perth Entertainment Centre days, back in the 80s and early 90s,” said merchandise manager Ashlyn Pilgrim.
“We’ve listened, and applied everybody’s favourite element of those uniforms to the famous and successful modern uniform design.
“Our players and fans will love the result.”
Even the Perth Wildcats athletic department have given the design the tick of approval, saying the reduced length allows for a greater range of motion and improved upper-thigh heat regulation.
The sleek new style will make its debut in tonight’s clash against the Sydney Kings.
