The regular starter hasn't played since suffering a lower-leg injury late in the Wildcats' season-opening win over Tasmania at RAC Arena on September 29.
But Rillie was upbeat about the New Zealander's chances of taking the court against United as the Wildcats hunt their third win in four starts for NBL24.
It's the first of a tough weekend double-header for Perth, who travel to Sydney on Saturday to face the Kings at Qudos Bank Arena on Sunday.
"It's looking good," Rillie told Channel 9 News.
"Tai's hit the practice court this week, so as long as he gets through the next couple of sessions, he should be suiting up for us on Friday."
Rillie also discussed championship-winning Wildcat Luke Travers' first visit to Perth as a United player and the likely reception he'll receive from the Red Army.
"My research into the Red Army and the way they welcome back former players, I look forward to that moment, especially seeing as we were trying to keep Luke as a Wildcat," Rillie said with a grin.
Rillie will be on Channel 9 News every Tuesday night during NBL season.
