The inaugural Wildcats Next Star is widely tipped to be the first name called out in next month’s NBA Draft in New York after Atlanta Hawks defied the odds in Monday’s draft lottery by claiming the top pick.
Sarr, who averaged 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game in NBL24, was asked about why he should be the No.1 pick.
“I’m a versatile defender, I can play in a lot of different schemes,” Sarr responded.
“I can defend guards or bigs, I can adapt to that.
“I think my skillset can fit a lot of teams.”
Highly-rated NBA draft experts Kevin O’Connor (The Ringer), Jonathan Givony (Draft Express), Sam Vecenie (The Athletic), Krysten Peek (Yahoo Sports) and Jonathan Wasserman (Bleacher Report) are among those predicting the Hawks to swoop on the exciting youngster.
The 2024 NBA Draft is on June 26-27.
