The exciting French talent, who is expected to go in the top-three pick in the 2024 NBA draft in late June, left several brand new size 17 basketball shoes at Bendat Basketball Centre especially for the Academy kids.
Wildcats Academy Director Keegan Crawford praised Sarr for his selfless act.
“We’re really grateful for Alex, not only what he was able to do in our program as a player, but who he is as a person as well,” Crawford said.

“We wish him all the best with his NBA process right now but as he was leaving, he was really gracious in donating some pairs of basketball shoes that he had acquired throughout the year.
“Size 17 shoes don’t come around too often so gifting some shoes to some kids that might not be in a position to get new shoes all the time was something he didn’t have to do, but it’s something we’re really grateful for.”
One of the beneficiaries was 225cm youngster Jongkuch 'JK' Mach (pictured above), fresh off representing Western Australia at this month's Basketball Australia Under-18 National Championships.
The towering 16-year-old, who is 1cm taller than the current tallest players in the NBA, was one of nine Wildcats Academy members to feature for WA.
The Wildcats Academy squad, made up of emerging athletes from 14-19 years of age with an emphasis on local Indigenous and African juniors, will practice every Tuesday and Thursday.
