Former Perth Wildcat Alex Sarr produced an impressive NBA Summer League debut, highlighted by a stunning flurry of blocks which set tongues wagging.
Sarr, who was picked up by Washington Wizards with selection No.2 in last month’s NBA Draft, finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, four blocks and four assists, in his new team’s win over Altanta in Las Vegas on Saturday morning (WST).
But his game will always be remembered for a remarkable 20-second passage at the defensive end, where the athletic seven-footer swatted away a Mouhamed Gueye lay-up attempt, before back-to-back rejections on Robert Baker.

Ironically, the 94-86 victory was over the Hawks, who overlooked Sarr with the first pick in the draft in favour of fellow Frenchman Zaccharie Risacher.
Sarr’s next assignment in the pre-season tournament is against Houston on Monday.
Wildcats head coach John Rillie (New Orleans Pelicans) and assistant coach Keegan Crawford (Utah Jazz) are also involved in Summer League as guest coaches.
Rillie’s Pelicans went down to Minnesota 81-74 in their opener, while the Jazz kick off their campaign against Dallas on Sunday morning.
