Two days before he leads the Perth Wildcats into battle for the first time, head coach Scott Morrison will host the first annual Coach the Coaches clinic.
The event is an exciting opportunity for grassroots and youth basketball coaches of all levels to learn valuable lessons and engage directly with Coach Morrison and his Wildcats staff.
Morrison joins the Wildcats following four years at the Boston Celtics was an assistant coach.
The Canadian is also an NBA G-League Coach of the Year and has worked with the junior and senior Canada National Teams.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for me to share some of what I’ve learnt along the way with up-and-coming coaches in the West Australian basketball community,” said Morrison.
“I’m a big believer in giving back to the community and this will be a great way to form a connection with local basketball people on the cusp of the NBL season.”
The evening, to be held at the Willetton Basketball Stadium, will feature opportunities to ask questions, as well as learn drills and view coaching demonstrations.
Perth Wildcats associate head coach Mike Kelly, assistant coach Luke Brennan and GM of basketball operations Danny Mills will join Morrison for the special event.
“This is a new initiative for the club and one I’m very excited about,” said Mills.
“As we engrain our brand into the city of Perth and state of WA, we will be bringing more and more of these opportunities working alongside Basketball WA to the greater basketball community”
