Perth Wildcats star Vic Law has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering a syndesmosis injury to his right ankle in Saturday’s win over the Cairns Taipans.

Law will continue to be reviewed by the club’s medical staff and specialists this week, but is expected to be sidelined for up to 12 weeks.

The 26-year-old had an outstanding first season with the Wildcats, averaging 20.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, making him top-five in the NBL in both categories.

His 37 points in the first game of the season set a record for a Wildcat on debut, while his 39-point performance against the NZ Breakers last month was the highest-scoring individual effort by any NBL player this season.

The Perth Wildcats take on the Illawarra Hawks tomorrow and the South East Melbourne Phoenix on Sunday in the final round of the regular season.

Development player Kyle Zunic will replace Law in the 11-man line-up.
