Three more years! Doolittle inks long-term deal at Wildcats

Coming off a career-best NBL campaign for the Wildcats, where he averaged 15.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and and 3.6 assists, the American forward will call Perth home until at least the end of the 2027-28 season in a massive boost for the club.

The 27-year-old from Oklahoma finished the season strongly after returning from a groin injury in mid-January, beating his career-high NBL score three times in that period.

He posted three of his nine double-doubles in the post-season including a career-best 37 points to go with 10 rebounds in game three of the playoff series against Melbourne United last week.

“I’m excited to commit my long-term future to the Wildcats and call Perth home,” Doolittle said.

“The club has been really good to me and my family and I’ve enjoyed my first two seasons at the Wildcats under head coach John Rillie who has the same dedication to winning as myself.

“To come so close to qualifying for this season’s championship series only fuels my desire to win a title with the Wildcats and I believe we are heading in the right direction to achieve the ultimate success.”

Wildcats head coach John Rillie credited Doolittle on his growth over his first two seasons at the club and was looking forward to having him around for the next three years.

“We’re really happy to have Kristian back at the Wildcats for another three years after watching his growth as a player and leader over the last couple of seasons,” Rillie said.

“It was great to see Kristian become a real leader in our group this season, he’s the ultimate professional and has an infectious desire for winning.

“Kristian is such a consistent contributor at both ends of the floor and highlighted his importance to the team with an elite playoff series and back end of the season once he returned from injury.

Wildcats general manager of basketball Danny Mills felt the hard-working and professional talent was an integral piece of the roster.

“We’re thrilled to lock in Kristian for a further three seasons with the club and love that he and his young family will continue to call Perth home for the foreseeable future”
