Vale Corey Williams

Williams, affectionately known as 'Homicide', was a beloved figure in Australian basketball, and his loss is deeply felt by the entire sports community.
Williams' passion for the game and larger-than-life personality made him a favourite both on and off the court.
Craig Hutchison, CEO of Sports Entertainment Group, paid tribute to Williams, who will be remembered as one of the greatest ambassadors the NBL has ever seen.
"Corey was a true ambassador for Australian basketball, both on and off the court. His impact on the sport and the lives of those around him was immeasurable. Corey's energy, enthusiasm, and genuine love for the game made him a joy to work with and an inspiration to us all," Hutchison said.
"He was not only a great athlete but also an incredible showman and entertainer. Corey's larger-than-life personality and infectious charisma made him a beloved figure among fans and teammates alike. His contributions as a broadcaster have been pivotal in the resurgence of the NBL, bringing the excitement and passion of the game to audiences across the country.
"Corey was an incredible human being, and his loss will be deeply felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him."
Williams was a champion on the court winning the 2010 NBL MVP while playing for Townsville Crocodiles.
He played the game with immense passion, intensity, and joy and matched those incredible efforts off the court when he joined the NBL broadcast team as a commentator and analyst.
