The Perth Wildcats are excited to announce the signing of athletic American Vic Law for the 2021/22 NBL season.
After representing the Brisbane Bullets in the 2021 NBL season, the 25-year-old impressed while playing for the Los Angeles Lakers at the recent NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
The versatile 201cm forward can’t wait to get started with his new team.
“I’m really excited to be a Wildcat, don that red jersey and be a part of the Red Army and help continue their history of success and hopefully be a boost to the Perth Wildcats organisation,” said Law.
“Australia is amazing. I had a number of options but I thought coming back to Australia was the best option for me, and there’s nothing better than the Perth Wildcats, so why not join them!”
He described his toughness as his greatest attribute, and wants to be known as a guy who leaves it all out on the court.
“The main thing you want is accountability. My teammates, my coaches, the fan base, they can count on me day in, day out. Whatever the situation is, you can always expect the best from Vic Law.”

Law averaged 10.0 points and 4.3 rebounds for the Lakers NBA Summer League team, including a game-winning performance against the Clippers where he came up with the clutch triple and defensive play to seal the win.
In a disrupted 2021 NBL Season where he played 16 games, Law averaged 18.8 points, 8.4 rebounds per game (fourth in NBL), 2.6 assists and 0.6 steals.
He shot the ball at 46.6 per cent from the field.
Perth Wildcats general manager of basketball operations Danny Mills said Law’s performances both in Australia and at the NBA Summer League made him a target.

“Vic’s a versatile perimeter player who can play in multiple positions,” said Mills.
“He plays both ends, he’s a two-way guy who will contribute positively both offensively and defensively.
“Vic’s also continuing to improve. He’s still only 25, he’s young, and still has a runway to the prime of his career. He’s a high-character young man who we feel is an NBA-quality player.”
Following his standout senior year at Northwestern University in 2018/19, Law joined the Orlando Magic for training camp before signing with their affiliated NBA G-League team, the Lakeland Magic.
He was then signed by Orlando on a two-way contract, making nine NBA appearances for the Magic in 2020.
New Perth Wildcats coach Scott Morrison is thrilled to have another piece of the puzzle locked in.
“Vic’s a proven player in the NBL, he had success in his brief time at Brisbane, and I believe he is right on the cusp of being an NBA level player,” he said.
“He has great length and great athleticism which gives us a lot of different options, depending on opponent’s systems and coverages. We can go small and be very athletic or try get a bigger line-up out there. He can fit into both situations.
“He’ll give us the opportunity to mix things up and show different looks.”
Originating from Chicago, Vic attended St Rita of Cascia High School where he was ranked among the top prospects in the United States.
He’s the eighth player signed to the Perth Wildcats roster, joining Mitch Norton, Bryce Cotton, Todd Blanchfield, Kevin White, Luke Travers, Jesse Wagstaff and Majok Majok.
Corey Shervill is also signed as a development player.
The 2021/22 NBL Season is scheduled to commence on 18 November
