Perth Wildcats provides marketing and promotional services on behalf of SEDA Group RTO: 22503 relating to the recruitment of prospective students. Dual Diploma consists of SIS50321 Diploma of Sport and BSB50120 Diploma of Business.
The Perth Wildcats are incredibly excited to announce its partnership with SEDA Group.
The Wildcats strive for success on and off the court and this collaboration with SEDA, a leader in applied learning in the sports industry, is no exception. As an innovative organisation, the Wildcats are committed to making an impact on the educational journey of students with an interest in a career in sport.
Students will have the opportunity to study one of two programs. The Perth Wildcats Sports Development Program will allow students to complete their Year 11 and 12 with SEDA College WA studies within a sport and community setting.
Year 12 graduates will also have an exclusive opportunity to study alongside the Perth Wildcats through a dual Diploma in Sport and Business. The Perth Wildcats Sport & Business Program allows students to study in a practical, applied learning environment and gain hands-on experience in the sports industry.
Students will connect with and learn from the Perth Wildcats’ very own industry experts, coaches and elite athletes as part of the one-year dual diploma program.
The program will develop skills and knowledge across a variety of areas including project and event management, sport psychology, sponsorship and fundraising, marketing and entrepreneurship.
The program will allow students to:
- Take part in Perth Wildcats game day and community experiences
- Work on real-time projects aligned to the strategic objectives of the Wildcats
- Hear from guest speakers and key industry personnel, including high-profile Wildcats professionals
- Access industry leading facilities and resources
- Immerse themselves in a professional sporting environment that hosts elite-level basketball programs to develop insights into current and future career opportunities
- Upon successful completion, access pathways into over 40 higher education courses nationally, the vast majority with credits or advanced standing
- Dual Diploma comprising two nationally recognized qualifications - SIS 50321 Diploma of Sport and BSB50120 Diploma of Business
Upon successful completion, students will have the opportunity to move into further study with one of SEDA’s higher education partners, or transition into the workforce, equipped with the knowledge and attributes for a successful future.
Perth Wildcats General Manager of Business Operations Sam Fotu is proud to be involved with the program.
“We’re very excited to join forces with SEDA and be a part of this incredible Sport and Business Program,” he said.
“Helping students get involved in an industry they are passionate about and being able to provide them with hands-on learning experience in the field is such a great initiative.
“We look forward to working closely with SEDA and providing a pathway for students to succeed and thrive, while doing something they love.”
Applications are open to all eligible Year 12 graduate students for the new diploma program which begins in January 2023.
Students and parents will have the opportunity to attend an information session on the Sport and Business Program.
