RAC Arena
8 October 2022
Summary
The Perth Wildcats have pulled off an incredible comeback at RAC Arena. Illawarra Hawks held the lead for majority of the game, leading by as much as 11 points in the third quarter. In a quiet night for the usual hot-handed Bryce Cotton and Todd Blanchfield, vice-captain Mitch Norton and young-gun Luke Travers stepped up. Norton was vital in keeping the Cats in the running, finishing with 14 points and three assists, while Travers lit the home-side’s spark, managing 14 points and seven rebounds coming off the bench.
Reaction
John Rillie on Jesse Wagstaff's contribution.
"He finds a way to impact the game, whether it's on the defensive end or lifting the energy offensively, getting his pick and pop threes or posting up, that's what you expect out of a veteran player."
Player focus
Luke Travers got the Red Army on their feet, working hard on both ends of the court. He shot at 100% from behind the arc and finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and two big slams.
