The Perth Wildcats have been defeated by the Brisbane Bullets, 90-100, in their second pre-season game in Tasmania.
Despite the result, there were encouraging signs for the Wildcats who only met their coach in person earlier this week.
Bryce Cotton was outstanding with 22 points and six assists, leading the game in scoring.
It’s the MVP’s second game back from a season-ending injury earlier this year.
Majok Majok is also continuing to impress in his own return from a major injury, coming away with 11 points, four rebounds and four steals off the bench.
Vic Law was able to provide a sneak preview of what the Red Army can expect from him in the regular season with a well-rounded 16 points, six rebounds and five assists, while young gun Luke Travers added 12 points.
The Bullets height was a concern for the Wildcats, and they were outrebounded 22-39 and had 58 points scored on them in the paint.
Brisbane were also on-target, shooting at 66 per cent from the field.
Perth coach Scott Morrison would be pleased with his team’s ball pressure, coming away with 10 steals and causing 19 Bullets turnovers.
The Wildcats are back in action 10am Sunday morning Perth time, taking on the Cairns Taipans in Ulverstone.
