The Perth Wildcats have farewelled championship-winning lead assistant coach, Scott Roth.
Roth departed Melbourne for Tasmania today, where he will commence his new position as head coach of the Tasmania JackJumpers.
Wildcats head coach Trevor Gleeson thanked Roth for his contribution to the team’s success.
“Scott is going to be a great head coach in the NBL. His experience, knowledge and rapport with the players and coaches made him a terrific asset to our club,” said Gleeson.
“We’re very happy for him but disappointed our organisation is losing a quality person. I wish him the very best and am looking forward to a new rivalry with Tasmania. They’re in good hands.”
The Wildcats appointed veteran NBA coach Bob Thornton as Roth’s replacement in January.
Thornton is due to come out of quarantine and join the team next week.
