The Perth Wildcats game against Melbourne United on Sunday will go ahead, after the club was granted access to Victoria under strict biosecurity conditions.
Wildcats players and coaches will fly to Melbourne today (Wednesday) and will remain in isolation for the next 14 days - except for when they ar training or playing.
They are required to get tested within 72 hours of arrival. They must also contact the Department of Health immediately if they have any COVID-19 symptoms.
The Wildcats flew to Sydney on Monday morning following the announcement of a five-day lockdown in Perth.
“I want to thank Victorian health officials for their assistance in allowing Perth to travel to Melbourne under strict biosecurity controls, including that they remain in isolation when they are not training and playing. This includes travelling to Bendigo to play Melbourne United this Sunday,” said NBL Commissioner Jeremy Loeliger.
“The team will also continue to follow the NBL’s strict COVID-safe protocols and remain in Melbourne until the completion of the NBL Cup, which starts 20 February.”
Tip-off on Sunday is at 2pm WA time and you can watch live on VICELAND and SBS On Demand.
