Wildcats hit reset button ahead of United blockbuster

Perth Wildcats guard Kevin White said his team are treating the time between now and their next home game like a mini training camp.
The Wildcats are in the midst of a nine-game turn around between games, before they play six games in 20 days to conclude the regular season.
White said it’s a great opportunity to re-focus.
“We’ve had two, three days off to kind of walk away and get a mental break. It’s been a long season for us and I think coming home, the mental exhaustion of being on the road really took a toll on guys,” he said.
“Everyone has needed the last two days to kind of hit the reset button, we sat down, we had a lot of film, a lot of walk-throughs this morning, trying to pick apart some areas where we have fallen away over the last week or two.”
He said despite losing their last two, there were some concerning signs in recent wins as well.
“There were instances against New Zealand where we weren’t great, but guys made plays that got us across the line. Tassie, we weren’t great again, they made plays, we didn’t, and obviously Sydney, the hottest team in the league right now came in and moved the ball and did what they want. We just weren’t there, we didn’t compete at the level we need to compete at,” said the veteran.
“So that’s kind of what we looked at. Our effort areas. And then kind of just dumbing down and treating the next few days like a mini camp to fine-tune some things defensively.”
The Wildcats next game is on Monday against the league-leading Melbourne United, who will be looking to bounce back after the Wildcats defeated them on their home floor earlier this month.
