Wildcats Ignite Wednesday Nights in NBL27

The Perth Wildcats will chase a place in the Ignite Cup Finals Series when the NBL’s in-season tournament returns with an expanded format in NBL27.

Twenty Ignite Cup games will be played across the regular season, with every club contesting two home and two away fixtures on Wednesday basketball.

The Wildcats’ campaign features two major RAC Arena matchups, beginning against the Sydney Kings on Wednesday 28 October before Melbourne United heads west on Wednesday 16 December.

Perth will also travel to face the Brisbane Bullets and Tasmania JackJumpers, looking to secure a top-four finish and book their place in the Finals Series in Canberra.

Every Ignite Cup game will again count towards the regular-season ladder, while the tournament’s unique scoring system ensures every quarter matters.

Three points are awarded for winning the game, with another point available to the team that outscores their opponent in each quarter. Teams receive half a point each for a tied quarter, with a maximum of seven points available from a single game.

The Wildcats will open their campaign against Sydney at RAC Arena before heading to Brisbane the following week.

Perth returns home to host Melbourne United in December, before completing its Ignite Cup schedule against Tasmania in Hobart in February.

Both Ignite Cup games at RAC Arena are included in NBL27 membership packages for full-season seated members.

The top four teams in the Ignite Cup standings will advance to Canberra, where the semi-finals will be played at AIS Arena on Friday 19 February.

The winners will meet in the Ignite Cup decider on Sunday 21 February, with a record $550,000 in prize money available across the tournament.

The Andrew Gaze MVP Awards will also take place in Canberra on Saturday 20 February.
