Wildcats lock in final import for NBL24 season

The 25-year-old from Oklahoma is a well-rounded talent who possesses defensive versatility, scoring ability and a physical presence at both ends of the court.

Doolittle spent four years playing for University of Oklahoma in the NCAA’s top division, alongside Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young, LA Laker Austin Reaves and former Wildcat Brady Manek.

He was named in the All-Big 12 First Team in 2019-20 after leading the Sooners’ scoring with 15.8 points to go with 8.9 rebounds and two assists per game.

Since his college days, the athletic 201cm forward has played in Japan, Puerto Rico, Israel and the NBA G-League.

He’s a two-time Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) champion in Puerto Rico with Vaqueros de Bayamon.

Doolittle is determined to help his new team win an 11th championship.

“I had a couple of calls with them and their message to me was just about coming in and being myself,” Doolittle said.

“Competing for a championship is the main goal. We talked about how the team plays and how I would fit well with them so it’s almost like a match made in heaven between the both of us. It was a no-brainer.”

Head coach John Rillie was delighted to secure some with Doolittle’s versatility after the Wildcats did their due diligence finding a third import.

“Obviously we took out time and wanted to do our due diligence with the off-season that we’ve had to date,” Rillie said.

“We just feel Kristian’s ability to rebound, defend multiple positions and then his skillset offensively fits in to what we need and will make us a better team.”

Wildcats general manager of basketball operations Danny Mills described Doolittle as an exciting addition to the roster.

“Kristian is an exciting addition to our current roster and will bring a high level of positional size, athleticism, and defensive versatility to our front court,” Mills said.

“He’ll provide another physical presence on the glass at both ends, and offensively his ability to be a connector as a playmaker as well as a scorer from both the perimeter and around the basket is what we were targeting in this position.”
