The Perth Wildcats will host their second annual Multicultural Game when they take on Melbourne United at RAC Arena this Friday, 23 October.
The Perth Wildcats Multicultural Game returns following its introduction last season, bringing the Red Army together to celebrate the many cultural backgrounds, traditions and stories within our community.
Perth’s playing group will proudly wear their heritage with each jersey featuring the flag or flags of their cultural background on the front and back.
Jo Lual-Acuil Jr will represent Australia and South Sudan, Anthony Dell’Orso will represent Italy, and Kristian Doolittle will recognise his American and Native American heritage.
Tana Kopa’s jersey will feature the flags of Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain, while Marley Sam will represent Cambodia and Italy. Cameron Huefner will represent Australia and Germany, and Alex Higgins-Titsha will represent Australia and Zimbabwe.
Dylan Windler, Jaron Rillie and Elijah Pepper will each feature the Australian and United States flags. Blake Nielsen, Jesse Wagstaff and Angus Brandt will represent Australia, while Jimmy Whitt will represent the United States.
Melbourne United will also wear their multicultural playing jerseys on Friday, with the visitors sharing a connection to the origins of the event.
The Wildcats’ Multicultural Game began as a player-led initiative driven by Jo Lual-Acuil Jr, who had previously taken part in Melbourne United’s Multicultural Game during his time with the club.
After joining the Wildcats, Lual-Acuil brought the idea to Perth, with those early conversations developing into the first Wildcats Multicultural Game in NBL26.
Friday’s matchup continues the initiative for a second season, with the two clubs again meeting at RAC Arena for the occasion.

Alongside the playing uniforms, the Wildcats have launched a new multicultural tee and jersey for fans to join the celebration.
Building on last year’s theme of welcome, the tee features colourful illustrations of cultural icons from around the world, while the jersey features the word welcome translated into the languages that reflect the backgrounds represented across our club.
Both are available online now at Catsgear, while stocks last.
The Red Army are encouraged to proudly represent their own heritage on the night, as the Wildcats take on Melbourne United in the Multicultural Game at RAC Arena this Friday, 23 October.
ONE TEAM. MANY CULTURES.
