David Okwera and Michael Harris were awarded Anzac Round medals in their respective NBL1 West matches over the weekend to continue their bright start to the season.

Okwera fell one rebound shy of his fifth consecutive double-double, finishing with 24 points, nine rebounds and four assists in East Perth's narrow 87-85 away loss to Willetton on Saturday night.

The athletic big man had the most points on the court, bumping his averaging up to 18 per game to go with 10.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists.

On the same night at Warwick Stadium, Harris led Warwick Senators to a 124-78 thrashing of Perth Redbacks with a team-high 26 points to go with seven assists and five rebounds.

Harris has hit 20-plus points in six of his seven appearances for the Senators this season including a staggering 42 on debut against the Eagles last month.

In New Zealand, Hyrum Harris reeled in a whopping 11 rebounds to go with six assists and six points for Wellington against his former team Hawkes Bay in a 111-104 victory at home.

Youngsters Ben Henshall (15 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals) and Jack Andrew (10 points and four rebounds) made double-digit contributions in Otago's 96-81 loss to Canterbury Rams in Dunedin, while Tai Webster had nine points, three rebounds and three steals in his return.

Auckland, coached by Wildcats assistant coach Aaron Young, beat Manawatu 98-79 on the road thanks to a game-high 22 points from ex-Wildcats veteran Corey Webster.
