The Perth Wildcats are proud to announce its recent Stronger In Pink game raised a record $69,122 for Breast Cancer Care WA.
It was the Wildcats fifth annual game for breast cancer, with over all funds-raised climbing to a staggering total of over $191,000.
The fund-raiser game was held at the Wildcats final regular season home game on 24 April.
Breast Cancer Care CEO Zoe McAlpline said the funds are crucial to its support services.
“The Stronger In Pink game is part of our lifeblood, it’s part of our DNA now. Our friends at the Perth Wildcats and Crown Perth just make this event exceptional for us. It raises much-needed awareness for Breast Cancer Care WA - not only that we exist to support people but also about the early detection of breast cancer, which is so important,” she said.
“It also raises funds which are needed now more than ever. With COVID in the WA community, it means we can’t hold fund raising events ourselves, so we rely on partnerships like this to help support us, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
“The funds raised go towards supporting all our services programs, which includes specialist breast care nursing, one-to-one counselling, and support groups as well. It also includes financial assistance for when people are doing it tough during treatment for breast cancer.”
Thank you to everyone who joined us on Sunday for our annual Stronger in Pink Game, helping us raise awareness and funds for @BreastCancer_WA. 💗

The Stronger In Pink game sees the Wildcats switch its red home uniform for pink, while the Red Army also turn pink for the special occasion.
Net proceeds from pink jersey sales went towards the total, while game-worn jerseys and other signed one-of-a-kind memorabilia were also auctioned off in support of the charity.
Crown Perth donated $1,000 for every foul shot made by a Wildcat, while Retravision contribute $200 for every triple nailed by the home team.
A special Stronger In Pink digital hub was also created, allowing fans to engage and donate with big prizes on offer from Crown Perth, IGA and Soklich and Co Jewellers.
“We’re very proud to be able to support such an important cause and a wonderful West Australian charity,” said CEO Troy Georgiu.
“I’d like to personally thank our fans and sponsors who continue to throw their support behind the Stronger In Pink game. It has become a highlight of the Perth Wildcats calendar.”
Since 2000, Breast Cancer Care WA has provided specialist breast care nursing, counselling, and financial support to women and men affected by breast cancer, as well as their partners and families, throughout the WA community.
They do not receive government funding and their services are provided free of charge.
