The Perth Wildcats take on the NZ Breakers in their second home game of the weekend on Sunday afternoon.
Perth played the Breakers less than a week ago in Tasmania, but it will be their first trip to RAC Arena this season, after their previously scheduled trips west were postponed due to COVID protocols.
Tuesday’s game was a thriller, with the Wildcats sending it to overtime courtesy of a Bryce Cotton double-clutch three-pointer as regulation time expired.
Trevor Gleeson was pleased with the resilience his team show in that contest.
“Teams are coming after us when we play them, when your top of the ladder or top two, teams mark it in the calendar, they’re going to come out ready to play,” he said.
“Sometimes you can lose your bundle and mark it down as a loss, but our resilience was pretty good to stay the fight and see what happens.”
The Breakers will come into the game full of confidence after a thumping win over the Brisbane Bullets.
William McDowell-White was the star for the Breakers in that one, finishing with a triple-double highlighted by 14 assists.
Fellow new recruit Levi Randolph also added 20 points.
Sunday’s game also sees Trevor Gleeson coach Perth for the 250th time, while guard Mitch Norton reaches 250th NBL game.
Tip-off is at 3pm. Tickets through Ticketek.
