The objective of the carnival is to provide the children with an opportunity to play basketball in a safe environment with their peers.
In a special finale to the day, inaugural Wildcats Next Star signing Alex Sarr, fellow recruits Keanu Pinder, David Okwera as well as champion Jesse Wagstaff, Michael Harris and Tai Webster will take on the students in a couple of light-hearted games.
The event, which the Wildcats hope will become an annual thing, would not be possible without the support of naming rights partners Activ and Tyrepower.
“The Perth Wildcats are extremely proud to be providing the community of WA our first All Abilities Carnival,” Wildcats Senior Commercial Manager Sam Fotu said.
“Over 20 teams made up of special education schools from around Perth will take part, in what we aim to be an annual event, giving kids with special needs an opportunity to play basketball in a safe, inclusive, and fun environment.
“Without the help and support of our co-naming rights partners, Activ and Tyrepower, the Perth Wildcat would not be able to host such an incredible event.
“The Perth Wildcats are passionate about providing people with all abilities, the chance to play basketball and we feel very fortunate to be in a position to host this carnival.”
The action commences around 10am.
