Wildcats to reveal 40th Anniversary Team
The Perth Wildcats will honour an incredible four decades of success by revealing a 40th Anniversary Team, comprising of the best of the best Wildcats players ever to take to the court for the 10-time championship-winning club.
On 6 February, it will be 40 years to the day since the Wildcats played its first ever NBL game in 1982, when they were known as the Westate Wildcats.
The historic dream team will be revealed in the lead-up to the occasion.
To select the team, 10 panellists of experts have been enlisted, with each to submit their all-time Perth Wildcats team of 10 players.
Panel members were chosen for their broad lens on the history of the club, with each of their involvements in Australian basketball or the Perth Wildcats spanning multiple decades.
All 10 will individually select a starting five and a reserve five, each comprising of three front court players and two guards.
They will be instructed to choose their team with a mindset of building the best possible roster of Wildcats players to take to the court, while only considering each player’s performance as a Wildcat.
To be eligible for selection, a player must have played a minimum of two seasons with the Wildcats.
There are no restrictions on the number of import players allowed to the team.
