Perth Wildcats 72 defeated by Tasmania JackJumpers 103
MyState Bank Arena
22 October 2022
Summary
After a relatively good start by the Wildcats, resulting in a first quarter lead, Tasmania JackJumpers put their foot to the pedal and dominated the game for the remaining three quarters. Their shooting was impeccable. Jack McVeigh finished with 17 points, Rashard Kelly with 16 points and 8 rebounds off the bench and Milton Doyle managed 15 points and 10 rebounds. The Wildcats struggled offensively, defensively and recorded an uncharacteristic 15 turnovers, while Tasmania made the most of every opportunity.
Reaction
John Rillie shares his thoughts on the game.
"Tasmania were very good, Perth Wildcats, not so good," he said.
"Our pressure, our containment and contesting their shots wasn't at the level to be disruptive tonight, and they capitalised on our mistakes, that's for sure.
"They played with great purpose and intent, we couldn't create that momentum ourselves on offence and when you turn the ball over or give them a number of opportunities to score, it's tough to get any momentum, they played the game at their pace."
Player focus
Bryce Cotton managed a team-high 14 points, 6 rebounds, team-high 4 assists and 2 steals.
