In front of 10,685 fans, the Wildcats led from start to finish to continue their mid-season resurgence and move to 5-5 after being 2-5 less than a week ago.
It was remarkably the team's 11th win in 12 attempts against the Breakers
Superstar Bryce Cotton’s red-hot form rolled on for a third straight game, hitting a season-high 37 points including six three-pointers.
After scoring 53 in his last two outings, Cotton was the first player in the match to reach double digits in an 11-point first quarter, which included a pair of triples, to set the tone for a massive night.
Big man Keanu Pinder was also influential across the four quarters, finishing with 21 points and six rebounds, while rebounding machine Kristian Doolittle reeled in 11 boards and Tai Webster was outstanding defensively.
The Wildcats were deadly from outside the arc early, hitting five three-pointers on the way to a 34-17 quarter-time lead.
After trailing by as much as 20 in the opening term, the Breakers hit back in the second with ex-NBA star Anthony Lamb the catalyst.
Lamb had a team-high 25 points for the match, while fellow import Parker Jackson-Cartwright chipped in with 20.
Perth’s lead diminished to seven midway through the second term before Pinder, who was up to 16 by the main break, helped steady the ship with the score 52-36.
From there it was relatively smooth sailing with the Wildcats’ having all the answers to anything New Zealand threw at them.
The Wildcats are at home once again next week, hosting Cairns at RAC Arena on Thursday night.
