Game details
Perth Wildcats 77 defeated by Melbourne United 94
John Cain Arena
31 October 2022
Summary
The Perth Wildcats have lost their fourth-straight game after falling to Melbourne United at John Cain Arena. It’s the first time Perth have lost four games in a row since December 2018. The visitors trailed United at every break, with Melbourne really putting their foot down in the final term to blow out the margin. Bryce Cotton top-scored for the Cats with 19 points, while Xavier Rathan-Mayes was Melbourne’s best, finishing with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
Reaction
John Rillie shares his thoughts on the game.
“When you don’t generate anything off your defence, offence can become a struggle for any team,” he said.
“We have great patches, we come out in the third quarter motivated, together, connected, and we were very disruptive.
“We need to evolve and have greater stretches of that, and our offence is generated from our defence and we haven’t been able to do that over the last couple of games.”
Player focus
TaShawn Thomas spread his stats across the board, managing 13 points, a team-high 7 rebounds and team-high 5 assists.
