ESPN’s highly-rated draft analyst Jonathan Givony has the French Next Star talent going at No.1 in his latest ratings, up from pick two last month.
Sarr has had a massive impact off the bench in his debut season in the NBL, averaging 9.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks from about 18 minutes of court time.
He’s helped the Wildcats turn their season around from a 2-5 start to winning nine of their last 11 matches.
Alex Sarr, our new projected No. 1 pick, plays a compact, efficient role for Perth, with plenty of freedom to demonstrate his versatile skill set pushing off the glass, as a facilitator, making shots dynamically, and showing excellent footwork and touch as a finisher. pic.twitter.com/BsHtCB7GCT

“He plays a compact, efficient role as a cutter, roller and offensive rebounder, with plenty of freedom to demonstrate his versatile skill set pushing off the defensive glass and facilitating as a passer, making perimeter shots in a variety of ways, and showing his excellent footwork and soft touch as a finisher,” Givony explained.
The Athletic's Sam Vecenie and Yahoo’s Krysten Peek are among the other NBA draft experts to have Sarr’s name read out first in this year’s draft.
Sarr has already publicly committed to playing out the season in the hope of winning a championship with the Wildcats, dispelling talk he may be put on ice early.
Perth are currently sitting second on the NBL ladder with an impressive record of 11-7.
“Right now we are winning and my goal is to make the play-offs and get the furthest I can,” Sarr said last month.
“Even outside of the draft, it’s cool. I’m having fun out there and competing for something. It’s the first time in my life where I’m part of a league where I’m really trying to win something at the end.
“Outside of anything happening next year, I’m having fun playing every night here.
“When I’m on the court, it’s fun. I love playing in The Jungle.”
Sarr and the Wildcats are back in action on Sunday against New Zealand Breakers in Auckland.
